Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, derived from licorice root, a staple of the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) pharmacopoeia, calms visible signs of sensitivity with panthenol, bisabolol, and a seven-botanical soothing complex. Schizophyllan and biosaccharide gum-1, both fermentation-derived polysaccharides, with Hydrolite® 5 green, a sugarcane-derived moisturizer from German ingredient specialist Symrise, rehydrate the skin's surface layers; hyaluronic acid holds that water in place; Lactobacillus-fermented rice, among the formula's leading ingredients, adds hydration and comfort. Pemulen™ TR-1 from Lubrizol and Biophilic™ lecithin from Lucas Meyer (Clariant Group, Switzerland) stabilize water and oil in a single serum, with vitamin E for antioxidant support.

The serum is an oil-in-water emulsion, not a water-thin essence: phospholipids, palmitic acid, and plant triglycerides, finished with peony seed oil and oat kernel oil, replenish lightweight lipids that are massaged in, not rinsed off. Ectoin — the extremolyte microorganisms produce to survive extreme salt and heat — helps skin adapt, holding its moisture balance under everyday environmental stress. Humectants draw water in, lipids slow its loss, and Ectoin holds the balance when conditions change.

The sheet is grown, not woven. In a controlled fermentation, bacteria assemble cellulose into an ultra-fine, three-dimensional fiber network, which is then purified and cut to shape. Holding many times its dry weight in serum, it settles onto the face like a second skin and keeps the serum in close, even contact, limiting evaporation for the full 20 minutes.
